The Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2010 menswear collection was inspired by the British town and country under the quintessential British elements of rain and sun. Building on the brand's heritage in fabric innovation and development, the collection features the iconic Burberry trench coat in shower-proof waxed heritage cottons, waxed linens and ruched paper-light technical nylons all in pale weather-worn colours. Burberry accessories shown include stonewashed canvas utility bags, carpenter bags and vintage Chelsea boots. Burberry ad campaign stars George Craig and Charlie France were among those walking the show which took place on 20 June 2009 in Milan. The collection will be available from November 2009 in select Burberry stores worldwide

Angela Ahrendts and Christopher Bailey hosted an event to celebrate the lighting of the fifty foot Burberry logos on top of our new Americas headquarters at 444 Madison. The event coincided with official 'Burberry Day' in New York, as declared by Mayor Bloomberg.

The event was attended by over 300 guests including Orlando Bloom, Clare Danes, Hugh Dancy, Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Rose McGowan, Carla Gugino, Molly Sims, Helena Christensen, Jamie Burke, Tara Subkoff, Derek Blaskberg, Lily Donaldson, Kelly Klein, Darren Aronofsky, Amy Sacco, Sean Avery, Brendan Shanahan, Nico Stai, Aaron Yoros, Justin Long all of whom wore Burberry.

British TV presenter Alexa Chung was guest DJ, and British band One Night Only played live with George Craig (lead singer and star of the Burberry Spring/Summer 2009 and Beat for Men campaign) leading the count down for the lighting of the Burberry sign, which was switched on during the evening.

Getting ready to light up the New York skyline, a fifty foot Burberry sign is installed on the roof of the new Burberry Americas headquarters at 444 Madison Avenue. The sign will be illuminated on 28 May - the day declared as the official Burberry Day in New York City by Mayor Bloomberg.

Ready-to-wear pieces in crumpled fabrics including broderie anglaise, gabardine, superfine cashmere, technical cotton and lightweight linen are layered and have soft silhouettes, giving them a familiar, worn-in look available in muted earth tones such as pewter, bark, trench, sage and citrine. The Burberry "The Garden Girls” Spring/Summer 2009 Womenswear collection was inspired by the brand’s rich heritage of providing functional timeless outerwear. The collection includes raincoats for any time of the day and night from classic trench coats in degradé gabardine to decorative evening coats in neutral earth shades with accents of pop colours reflecting a garden coming to life. Accessories including The Burberry Gardener Bag, degradé canvas platform sandals and metallic and acrylic floral jewellery in a soft colour palette of mushroom, dark pink and slate blue are featured.
